Body Bar Inc. Launches the Body Bar® Strength Band

To Debut at ECA/NYC 2009 OBOW SHOW

BOULDER, Colo. –  February 27, 2009 –  Body Bar® Inc. a premier fitness company specializing in products and educational tools for fitness enthusiasts of all ages and abilities, announced today an innovative new product designed specifically for use with the company’s flagship product, the Body Bar® brand weighted bar.

The Body Bar® Strength Band comes in two variations, both of which attach to any Body Bar®. The Body Bar® Strength Band - Single is 5’ and attaches to each end of the Body Bar®. The Single is utilized by stepping on the mid-point of the band or otherwise securing it. The Body Bar® Strength Band - Pair are 3’ each. Each band in the pair attaches to one end of the Body Bar ® and to the user’s feet via fabric stirrups. The pair allows for better bi-lateral movement and mobility, specifically for group exercise and functional training.

Both variations provide numerous exercise options for all fitness levels. Patented Slastix™ technology provides a considerably safer workout in comparison to “naked tubing.” A nylon safety cover surrounds the entire length of its latex tubing, preventing the tubing from being overstretched and keeping the tubing from snapping back at the user if it were to break. The cover protects the tubing from nicks, cuts, abrasions, body oils and ultraviolet rays which can degrade the rubber, so it is extremely durable. The Body Bar® Strength Bands will last 8-10 times longer than similar products utilizing naked tubing.

“The Body Bar® Strength Bands are easy, fun and safe for everyone,” said Tim Riley, managing direct, Body Bar® Inc. “It’s a great way for the home user to add a significant resistance to their routine. And in the gym, we think that this product will revolutionize group exercise and personal training. It significantly expands the ways in which the Body Bar® can be used for complete fitness.”

Safety was a primary factor in the development of this new fitness product. “Unfortunately, injuries do occur when naked bands break,” added Riley, “which is why we chose to partner with Stroops and their patented Slastix technology. When you are lifting steel over your head it naturally ups the ante.”

Both Body Bar® Strength Bands are now available on www.BodyBar.com. They will be featured in Body Bar® Inc.’s booth at the ECA/NYC 2009 OBOW, Fitness and Wellness Convention and Trade Show at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City, February 26 - March 1, 2009.

Body Bar Exchange Program Expanded

Now Includes Home Users and All Brands of Weighted Bars

BOULDER, Colo. –  September 22, 2008 -   Body Bar Systems, Inc., a premier fitness company specializing in products and educational tools for fitness enthusiasts of all ages and abilities, announced today that its Body Bar Exchange program has been expanded to include home users and copy brands, reinforcing the company’s commitment to recycling its steel-based products.

Now extended to home users along with fitness club customers, the Body Bar Exchange program provides users with new Body Bar brand weighted bars at a fraction of the original cost, in exchange for any brand weighted bar, including competitor “knockoff” bars.

“Although Body Bars have been on the market for 21 years, they do not typically collect dust in a corner,” commented Timothy Riley, managing director, Body Bar Systems. “Our Body Bar community is very enthusiastic about using their bars, and after extended use, the comfortable rubber encasing the steel can get a bit worn.  Body Bar Exchange is a great opportunity to exchange bars for new ones at a significant discount. Plus, recycling the steel is environmentally responsible.”

The following users can participate in the Body Bar Exchange program:

-        Users owning bars from another manufacturer who would prefer to exchange for the superior quality of the Body Bar Classic or Body Bar Flex

-        Users owning Body Bar branded weighted bars or Body Bar Flex bars that are warn.

-        Users who would like to exchange their current weighted bar for a different weight.

Kris Freewoman, group exercise director at the Parkpoint Health Club in Santa Rosa, CA www.parkpointhealthclub.com, recently participated in the Body Bar Exchange program.  “It was a breeze,” she commented. “The program is super easy. The new Body Bars were shipped very expediently and then we just re-used the boxes to ship back our old bars. I'm very glad to see recycling happening with fitness equipment.  I commend Body Bar Systems for being an earth-responsible company! “

Users interested in exchanging their bars can email exchange@bodybar.com for a quote or call 800-500-2030.
